Dear Member,

We wish to let you know about an exciting opportunity that has come up for all WTAG members. Members are invited to exhibit their work either as a solo or as a group at the Moores Hill Cellar Door Art Space. The period of time available would be 28 days including setting up and taking down. These periods will run monthly, starting  November 4^th, to Dec 1^st, 2011. The cost would be 10% on every sale which would go to Moores Hill and an administrative charge to wtag of $20. There would be certain conditions regarding your responsibilities. This will be outlined to you in a contract which you will sign before commencement of your exhibition.  You will also receive an accompanying letter, regarding housekeeping procedure at Moores Hill.

If you are interested in holding one of the spaces would you please fill out the following form and send it to wtag by  September 30^th 2011              .

Your returned form will be placed in a draw for allocation of the date of your exhibition. If you do not succeed this year your name will automatically be allocated in the 2012 spaces.

You will be notified of the dates you have drawn, at the AGM on the 30^th October 2011 and also thereafter by email or post.

Tasmanian Regional Arts has announced the artworks to be exhibited in  MATERIAL GIRL 2011.  

WTAG are happy to announce that Clare Genders work "SPRING BALL” has been accepted, her sculpture from recycled old wood, an old truck spring and old art books is part of 2011 Material Girl Exhibition.

Wendy Thiele (ex WTAG not Rubicon Regional Arts member) and Anne Young entered a collaborative work in Material Girl 2011,  titled KEEPING ABREAST, unfortunately their work was not chosen for this year’s exhibition, Anne commented 'The fun was in the collaborative journey.'

Congratulations to each of the four artists,  WTAG members have taken up the challenge and left their mark on Tasmania's art community in 2011.

Five vineyards along the West Tamar will be hosting eight artists exhibiting their work from the 20 - 29 August. 2010. This is a great way to explore the Vineyards of the region, wine sampling  with a side of Art !

One of the feature artists is Bettina Hockey of Feltwolke who has large basket sculptures. Bettina has used a diverse range of materials from wool fleece, black bamboo, willow and vine cuttings.

As you can see on the left the scale of the work is pretty considerable. Constructed in Deviot, Bettina had to get this massive work through to Rowella where her instalment will be hosted at  the Goaty Hill Vineyard.

Hope you can find some time to enjoy this West Tamar event and enjoy the scenery !


Susie McMahon  will also be contributing her amazing work -  sculptures in mixed media featuring at Holm Oak Vineyard.
